Health Approval
| Procedure |
|
- Educate Yourself.
Study this website and other sources of information
on septic systems, sewers, the environment, human health,
sustainable agriculture, and sustainable land use (links);
visit the NutriCycle Systems Demonstration
Site and/or NutriCycle System installations.
- Get a Concept
Proposal.
If a NutriCycle System sounds good for you or your
project, call John Hanson to discuss the details. Mr. Hanson
will prepare, at no charge, a "Concept Proposal,
NutriCycle System" describing how the system is likely to
work on your site. The Proposal will also include estimates of
all costs.
- Contact Your Health
Officials
Show the "Concept Proposal, NutriCycle System"
to your health officials. They may say: "We will approve
this system if you pass a special perc test and give us a
Plan" (that's good); or "Here are our concerns about this
system" (that's ok); or "No" (that's bad). Mr. Hanson may be able to
provide additional information, and/or talk to the health
officials directly to resolve differences. For a list of
health officials that have approved NutriCycle Systems, go to Approving
Authorities.
- Pass a Perc Test
After conditional approval of the Concept Proposal, the
preferred location of the graywater system must pass a
"shallow" perc test. Mr. Hanson will track the
health officials' procedures and regulations to assure that
what "passes" are complimentary to the NutriCycle
System.
- Get a Plan
Following perc approval, have NutriCycle Systems proceed
with a detailed Plan for your site. The purpose for the Plan
is for both health department approval, and proper
installation. The fee for the Plan is specified in the Concept
Proposal. Mr. Hanson will adjust the Plan as needed for health
department approval.
- Receive a Final
Quotation
NutriCycle Systems will provide a Quotation based on the
Plan as approved by the health officials.
- Proceed With Your
Nutrient Recycling Project
NutriCycle Systems will be available as needed to answer
all questions concerning the installation, operations, and
maintenance of your system.
