Installations

Residence, Talbot County, MD

The Clivus was installed in 1977 in this 3 bedroom house with 3 toilets and a food scrap inlet. About 2 bushels of compost are removed during the annual maintenance, and are recycled to vegetation around the house. Liquid fertilizer (composted urine) is removed twice per year, about 75 gallons each time, and is recycled to ornamentals, blueberries and pecan trees.

Graywater enhances the topsoil in this greenhouse for growing vegetables and flowers year round. Clean water is recycled to the ground water.
Distribution of the graywater is by flooding dose to shallow irrigation troughs. No routine maintenance is required, just an annual inspection for proper operation.
